Are you feeling unfulfilled? Does your relationship feel “not quite right” but it’s hard to put your finger on why? Sometimes unhappiness goes un-addressed until a crisis hits or tensions grow large. Sex is important yet for many couples sex is a high conflict area. Do you or your partner use the computer or cell phone seeking sexual experiences or emotional connections? Does your partner seem more secretive? Has one of you had an affair? We usually have a “gut” feeling but don’t know what to do with it.

Preparation for the Passover Question: My 20 year old daughter is dating a gentile I am ashkaenazi my wife a Yemenite. How do we impress upon her to ceace their relationship. She is currently in Israel for vacation should she consider remaining in Israel? Shalom and apologies for the delayed response, This question is a very personal question and though I will try, it will be best answered by a Rabbi or Youth Director who knows you, your daughter and your community.
It is obvious that educating a certain value of Judaism in a vacum is useless and often counter-productive. If we raise children and provide an environent for them where Torah and Mitsvot are not obided by – where parents will drive on shabbat, and eat non-kosher etc. A child will immediately ask him or herself – “If Torah Judaism is the true way to live and therefore one can only marry a Jew, then why don’t my parents keep all the other commandments?
To show your children no use pretending as it will be immediately picked up how precious the Mitzvot and Jewish tradition is to you. I would also recommend you explain to your daughter that she is the next link in the year old chain of Jewish people. Tell her that years of ancestors – including Avraham, Isaac and Jacob, Sara, Rivka, Rachel and Leah, as well as all the millions of Jews who were persecuted over history for simply carrying on the Jewish tradition- are all relying on her to bring Jewish tradition into her home and into the homes of her children and grandchildren.
Relying on her to pass the torch to the next generation. Our homeland, Israel, has ironically become a safe haven for the preservation of the Jewish people. It seems that if your daughter enjoys spending time in Israel, maybe it is a good idea for her to come and spend a semester learning hebrew, or studying in University or even in a Seminary for beginners?

I’d like to compare the New Testament with the Torah. OK, but then you throw in something that does not allow for a comparison at all by saying: Why didn’t you ask what are the earliest “GT” extant still in existence manuscripts? Jodav, the “earliest” known complete manuscripts of the Christian “bible” are the Sinaticus and Vaticanus. They are not extant in that they are not the same as the Christian bible you use today. In fact there are no full papyri of the Chrstian bible dating earlier than about the 16th century of the common era CE.
A mere years ago! It is interesting that you demand original copies of a year old Torah from us and yet you do not ask for an extant copy of the Christian bible. A little hypocritical wouldn’t you say? A little “one sided”?

Subjects[ edit ] Although all students study the Talmud regardless of whether they just joined the yeshiva or have already been studying for well over a decade, when students first arrive they study the official mesechta Talmudic tractate of the yeshiva. This mesechta will always be one of eight that deal with areas of civil law. Some students will stay on learning these subjects for many years, developing great expertise in these areas, while others will study other areas of the Talmud.
Some students focus primarily on the practical application of the talmudic laws based on the Halachic conclusions of the Shulchan Aruch. Because of the large number of students in the Yeshiva, there are groups studying virtually every subject in the Talmud.

The two most urgent priorities of the American Jewish community are making Jewish life more affordable and fixing the broken Jewish dating scene. This recession has reinforced a conclusion that many came to before, that’s it’s just too expensive to be Jewish.
Yes, we Jews have paid a far higher price than money to hold on to our traditions. So how ironic that an economic downturn may end up knocking countless Jewish families out of the possibility of Jewish practice. The cost of Jewish day-school is a killer. Since there are precious few Jews in the world and since we are a community that shuns active proselytizing, we must rely on a high Jewish birthrate.

A visitor to Israel attended a concert at the Moscovitz Auditorium and he was quite impressed with the architecture and acoustics. From , Greece was under control of the Italians, who by and large protected the Jews against the Germans. But in , things changed for the worse; as punishment for Greece’s fighting against the Axis, freedom of movement was restricted for all Jews. Some Jews fled and hid in the countryside, but most were deported to Auschwitz.
Jews had lived in Athens since the 3rd century BCE — the longest continuous Jewish presence in Europe; the remains of an ancient synagogue were found at the foot of the Acropolis. In the Holocaust, 77 percent of Greek Jewry were murdered — 60, Jews. Any objective observer will look on in amazement.
